_winter sports center in Harrachov
A2 UMPRUM; semester + clausura [WS 2020—21]
◼ A controversial assignment for the town of Harrachov—designing a winter sports center for potential Olympic Games. The proposal follows the ridgeline of the surrounding Krkonoše Mountains and acknowledges Harrachov's strategic position as a gateway to the mountains. The sports complex integrates a wide range of sports, physical activities, and experiences within the context of the surrounding landscape. The entire area is designed as an artificial landscape, with the new structure blending seamlessly with the natural environment. The mass of the building shapes the edge of the hill, forming a soft boundary between the town and the mountains.
